Mission: The City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation, Forestry Department's mission is to enrich our community through stewardship of the environment and through provision of quality recreation, facilities and fun. Many people enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the winter and cycling and hiking in the warmer months. Hixon Forest is great for connecting with nature alone or with friends and family.
