Grandad Bluff

Grandad's Features:

  • Grandad Bluff is the largest bluff in the La Crosse area. It's often used for sight-seeing, hiking trails, picnics, and firework celebrations (4th of July and New Year's). 

 

  • Grandad bluff was once used as a limestone quarry and as a large source of construction. When the land was supposed to be sold for large-scale quarrying residents were angry. Joseph and Irene Hixon purchased the land and donated, what is now known as Grandad Bluff to the city.
